Posted October 10, 2018 07:30:00A large retailer will be able to offer up to 12 different retailers per shopping day, but if you’re a smaller retailer you can get away with only one, said Chris Fonagy, a marketing professor at the University of Western Australia.
“You can have 10,000 different retailers, and you can be sure that’s a good number for a large retailer.
But if you want to offer the same variety to smaller retailers, you’re going to have to work hard at that level to keep your margins high,” he said.”
If you have a small retailer and they have only four or five stores, then it’s really going to be very difficult to get them to make the investment in a new store to accommodate all the different retailers that they have.”
But with the internet, it’s so easy to get a small store to come online, it really does depend on how much space they have available.
“Fonagy said smaller retailers have more time to invest in developing new brands and selling them, which will drive sales for larger retailers.”
It’s a lot easier to build a brand that is a good fit for your business because you have that much space,” he explained.”
There are certain brands that really require a lot of time to develop, and if you have some time, you can do that with an existing brand that you already have.
“Online shopping is an emerging industry that’s booming and is estimated to grow at about 9 per cent a year.”
I don’t think it’s going to get better over time, because there’s always going to always be an opportunity to go online and grab some stuff,” Fonagys told News Corp. “The thing is that when people are shopping online, they’re using the internet for shopping.””
You have to have a certain level of patience and attention to detail to be successful online.
“The online shopping boom has also led to more people taking to social media, with some shopping on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, which are the fastest-growing social media platforms.
Fonagies research found that shoppers are using these social platforms for more than one reason, and the average shopper spends an average of one hour per day using them.”
When you’re using social media as your primary way to spend time with friends and family, you’ve got a lot more options for social media and the people you interact with, as well as your shopping,” he told News.
Finance expert Tim Harcourt said that while it was great to see more companies adopting social media to get more online, there was still a lot people were still not aware of.”
Online shopping has a lot going for it, and a lot that’s still to be done in terms of how people are managing their shopping,” Mr Harcourt told ABC Radio Melbourne.”
However, we do have to be aware that the digital economy is still a bit young and a little bit chaotic, and that’s really what we need to address with our regulatory environment.
